Kiwanis Malaysia Academy (KMA) conducted a 2-day workshop for Special Education Teachers on 27 and 28 May 2023 at the Asia Pacific University (APU). The 2 full day training consisted of sessions on overall management of Special Education Needs (SEN) classrooms followed by more specific breakout sessions for Autism, Dyslexia and Down Syndrome.

Neurodivergence is a term used to describe people who think, process information, and experience the world differently than the neurotypical population. It includes conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and many others. While neurodivergent individuals often face unique challenges, they are also at increased risk for developing certain comorbidities.

Dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia are three learning disabilities that can significantly impact a person's academic and professional success. While they all involve difficulties with specific skills, they affect individuals in different ways. Here is a closer look at the differences between these three conditions.
