It’s been a few months since we posted anything on Spectrum of Voices by Project Haans. However, that does not mean our advocacy stopped. While silence is golden, it is not an indication of remaining idle. We were still keeping the fire going towards our goals here at Project Haans.
Fundraising for Project Haans!
In November 2022, we embarked on a crowdfunding intiaitive. Since 2019, Project Haans has been self-funded and self-run by the founder. We needed funds to help us achieve the goals we set out for 2023. Project Haans’ goals are:
-
To host training modules on the Open Learning Platform for free or at minimal cost to those interested.
-
To redesign the Website to become more user friendly by adding more information such as listing of services / businesses by Neurodiverse individuals. This will be a free listing.
-
To have more content in BM on the Website
We conducted our crowdfunding through an online platform called GoGetFunding here, with the aim of raising RM6,000. We were pleasantly surprised at how generous donors were. We raised approximately RM10,000 through GoGetFunding and via personal contributions to our holding company’s account, Adells Learning Centre. From the bottom our hearts, we woud like to sincerly thank all named and anonymous contributors to our cause.
We are on the Open Learning Platform!
We are happy to announce, that Project Haans has an account on the Open Learning Platform, and we have launched our first online course called Autism is a Spectrum. This course has been designed for those who a new to autism, and want to get accurate information to help them understand autism, in their capacity as a parent / caregiver, teacher, family members, allies, etc. This same module has also been translated to Bahasa Melayu and we are in the midst of upaloding the content to the Open Learning Platform. Additionally, we will be creating more modules related to autism and neurodiversity. Our aim is to provide information in bite sizes, that is easy for people to understand, yet accrute and applicable to daily life.
Vitamin C Contribution from the Kiwanis Club of Taman Tun Dr Ismail (KCTTDI)
Project Haans also received a carton of Vitamin C’s with 70 boxes containing 4 tubes of 10 solubles each. This allowed us to show our appreciation towards our supportors, donors, contributors and volunteers since 2019. We sent boxes of Vitamins C’s to ED’Therapy, Autism Family Society of Selangor (AFSS), Louis Special Needs Center and other contributors and generous donors. We would like to take this opportunity to thank KCTTDI for their generosity to Project Haans.
What’s next?
Whilst working on creating more modules on the Open Learning Platform, we are also are in the midst of plannign a revamp of this Website. Our plans include adding more sections under resources such as business and services provided by the nuerodiverse community and making our resoursces section a sort of directory with better search options. Our aim is to make this Website more user friendly, and also include content in Bahasa Melayu. We also welcome contributors to write articles or send us information that would be helpful to the neurodiverse community and their caregivers, teachers and employers. Do email us here if you would like to contribute or ask us questions.
Wish us luck as we continue to do what we can towards buidling a more inclusive community. Thank you again to our supportors, donors and contributors. We can’t do what we do without your support and encouragement.
